Medical Career:
I went to Medical School in Goa, India and qualified in 1980. I have been in the UK since 1982 and worked for several years as a hospital doctor in the area of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery. I changed career in the 1990s to train as a General Practitioner (Family Doctor). I took up a fulltime position in the London Borough of Richmond (The Vineyard Surgery) and worked there for 15 years (1995 to 2011). A calling to work in the Mind.Body.Spirit area made me decide to retire from conventional medicine to pursue a different career path. My various qualifications can be perused via the qualifications link.
Study of Eastern Religions:
Between the ages of 17 and 21 I had ‘out of the blue’ glimpses of a dimension outside ordinary time and space, which led me to explore eastern thought which became a lifelong interest. Over the last 35 years I have studied Buddhism, Hinduism, the writings of G.I.Gurdjieff and some other gurus. Since 2008 I have felt a calling to share what I had discovered with a wider circle. A summary of my work is contained in the Audio-visual Teaching Series on the website.
I have called it Going Nowhere – Journey into The Tao
A Beginners guide to Eastern Spirituality
I have published a book in 2014 as appears on my homepage
I am currently working on a re-framing of the Christopher Isherwood translation of the Bhagavad Gita (USA 1944), so that the classical sanskrit stanzas can appear alongside the re-framed english translation. I hope this will be published in due course.
